Specialized OCD care across Saskatchewan. Not an emergency service. Use local emergency services for immediate danger.
SaskOCD is a Saskatchewan-focused OCD treatment and education service of STG Health Services Inc.
You should know what pattern is maintaining the problem.
The clinician should be able to explain what response is being changed and why.
Skills and exposures are translated into real-life practice when appropriate.
The plan is adjusted when the expected change is not occurring.
STG approach: warm therapeutic care with a clear clinical purpose and reviewable plan.
SaskOCD is a specialized service of STG Health Services Inc. It was built around a simple clinical requirement: treatment for OCD should identify the cycle that is maintaining symptoms and use an evidence-informed plan to change it.
The site and clinical pathway emphasize ERP, recognition of mental compulsions, transparent treatment planning, appropriate medical collaboration, and referral elsewhere when another service is a better match.
Credentials and scope are presented specifically rather than using vague umbrella language such as “licensed professionals.”
CEO / Clinical Counsellor and Psychotherapist. Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC #6333) and Counselling Therapist with ACTA (#2641). Provides psychotherapy and clinical treatment planning within professional scope.
Nurse Practitioner (DNP). Provides medical assessment and medication-related care within nurse practitioner scope when the current STG pathway and client eligibility allow.
Mental Health Therapist. Provides psychotherapy services within role, training, supervision and assigned clinical scope. Current OCD-specific case assignment is determined through clinical review.
SaskOCD treatment and education are designed around the features that make OCD treatment different from generic supportive therapy.
Clients can understand why exposure and response prevention are being used and what response the treatment is trying to change.
Rumination, internal checking, self-reassurance and neutralizing are treated as potential compulsions rather than invisible background noise.
Therapy aims to be warm without repeatedly settling the obsessional question in ways that can reinforce the cycle.
The plan should change if treatment is not reducing compulsive control, avoidance or functional impairment.
STG Health includes psychotherapy and medical services across related specialty programs. Coordination is used when it adds clinical value; SaskOCD remains focused on OCD rather than becoming a generic mental-health landing page.
If crisis care, a different specialty service, another level of treatment or medical assessment is more appropriate, the goal is to make that direction clear rather than forcing every client into an OCD pathway.
Start with what has been happening. SaskOCD can help determine whether specialized OCD treatment is an appropriate next step.
