STG Health Services Inc. · this policy applies to the SaskOCD service.
Terms of Use (User Agreement)
STG Health Services Inc. (“STG Health,” referred to as “we” or “us”) last updated these Terms of Use (“Terms”) on September 12, 2024. The current version of these Terms can be accessed at www.saskocd.com/terms-of-use. We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time to account for changes in applicable law, in our practices, or in the services offered through the STG Health Platform (“Platform”). This Platform may be provided or be accessible via our websites or any related applications, including, without limitation, www.saskocd.com and related secure STG Health digital services (together, the “Sites”) and any associated mobile app. Please check back to see if we have amended the Terms since you last used our Platform. We may (but are not obligated to) post notice of amendments. By using the Platform after any amendments take effect, you agree to comply with and be bound by the amended Terms.
STG Health owns and operates a proprietary information technology platform consisting of software, websites, applications, Content, products, and services (collectively referred to as the “STG Health Platform”). The STG Health Platform enables registered users (“Users,” “you,” “your”) to access mental health and related healthcare services provided by professionals who are registered, certified, licensed, or otherwise authorized to provide the relevant service within their professional scope and applicable jurisdiction (collectively, “Authorized Healthcare Professionals”).
STG Health’s core services focus on psychological assessments, counseling, and psychotherapy. Where necessary or appropriate, health care services may also be provided by a nurse practitioner through the STG Health Platform.
Telehealth involves delivering healthcare through secure text, audio, and/or video communication, where you and the Authorized Healthcare Professional are not in the same physical location. Telehealth services provided through the STG Health Platform (“Healthcare Services”) may be used to diagnose, treat, follow up, and/or provide related patient education. These services may include but are not limited to the electronic transmission of medical records, personal information, or personal health information (collectively referred to as “Personal Information”), and, when applicable, the issuance of prescriptions or other documents.
By becoming a User, you acknowledge and consent to Authorized Healthcare Professionals providing Healthcare Services through the STG Health Platform. If prescriptions are deemed necessary by a nurse practitioner, they may be transmitted electronically to the pharmacy of your choice.
STG Health is located in La Ronge, Saskatchewan, and makes the STG Health Platform primarily available to residents of Saskatchewan. If you reside outside of Saskatchewan, the availability of our services may be subject to provincial or territorial regulations.
To open an account (“Account”) and use the STG Health Platform, you must:
STG Health assumes no responsibility or liability for the deletion or failure to store or provide any Content maintained or transmitted by the Platform. STG Health reserves the right, at any time, to modify, suspend, or discontinue the STG Health Platform (or any part thereof) with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any such modification, suspension, or discontinuance.
Relationship with Authorized Healthcare Professionals:
Healthcare Services are provided by professionals acting within their applicable registration, certification, licensing, professional scope, contractual role, and jurisdictional requirements. Professional roles differ across disciplines and jurisdictions.
Telehealth Licensing Requirements:
Telehealth rules vary by province or territory. Depending on where you reside or your location at the time services are requested, an Authorized Healthcare Professional may be located outside your immediate region but still be authorized to provide the relevant service in Saskatchewan or your province/territory. We display or can make available information on the professional’s credentials, scope and jurisdiction on our Sites or upon request.
To report concerns or complaints about any Healthcare Services you receive through the Platform, please contact the professional regulatory college(s) in the province(s) where services were provided.
Not a Replacement for Primary Care or Emergency Services:
STG Health strongly encourages you to maintain a relationship with a primary care provider. We do not send reports of your Healthcare Services to your primary care provider unless explicitly requested by you. Should you choose, the STG Health Platform can facilitate sending a summary of your services to any other provider of your choice.
As a condition of accessing Healthcare Services through the STG Health Platform, you acknowledge and agree to the following:
The STG Health Platform is a technology platform that connects Users with Authorized Healthcare Professionals for the provision of Healthcare Services. While STG Health facilitates this connection, we are not ourselves registered to provide direct healthcare services.
The employment or contractual relationship between a professional and STG Health may vary. Each professional remains responsible for practising within their professional scope and applicable standards.
Diagnoses, treatments, prescriptions, and other Healthcare Services provided are solely at the discretion of the Authorized Healthcare Professional. They may, at their sole discretion, refuse or discontinue services if misuse or other inappropriate behavior is suspected.
No results can be guaranteed in connection with any Healthcare Services. Healthcare Professionals may determine telehealth is not appropriate for all treatment needs and may refer you to in-person services if needed.
There are inherent risks in telehealth, particularly regarding the electronic transmission and storage of Personal Information. Please review our Privacy Policy and any Consent to Virtual Care and Electronic Communications documents, which form part of these Terms.
The STG Health Platform is not an emergency service. If you think you may be experiencing a medical or mental health emergency, use the appropriate local emergency service or go to the nearest emergency department.
Certain clinical issues or medications (including controlled substances or narcotics) may not be addressed or prescribed through our telehealth services. Prescriptions, if issued, are for the personal use of the individual named on the prescription.
Should you experience medication reactions or side effects (when applicable), you agree to consult with your primary care provider, another clinic, or an emergency service (use the appropriate local emergency service if warranted).
All Content on the STG Health Platform (including, but not limited to, designs, graphics, pictures, software, text, artwork, videos, music, sound, names, words, titles, phrases, logos, and marks) is owned by or licensed to STG Health and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

If you require services in another language, we will do our best to accommodate, including allowing authorized interpreters to join sessions if both you and the healthcare professional consent. If an Authorized Healthcare Professional cannot effectively communicate with you, they may deny or discontinue care on that basis.
Using the STG Health Platform (including sending emails, chat messages, or using our mobile apps) constitutes electronic communication. You acknowledge and agree:
By providing your mobile phone number, you consent to receive calls or text messages from or on behalf of STG Health. Standard message and data rates may apply. You can opt out of text messages by replying “STOP” or by contacting us; however, note that doing so may limit your ability to receive important updates about your care.

In no event will STG Health be liable for any damages of any kind (including direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages) arising out of your use or inability to use the Platform or Content, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
If limitation of liability is not fully enforceable in your jurisdiction, STG Health’s total liability for any claim related to your use of the Platform shall not exceed the amount you have paid, if any, for services under these Terms during the preceding twelve (12) months.
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless STG Health (including our officers, directors, employees, and agents) from and against any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with:
If you use or access any third-party services (e.g., external pharmacies, delivery services) via our Platform, you release STG Health from all claims arising from disputes with those third parties.
STG Health may require payment (or valid credit card information) before providing certain Healthcare Services, especially if such services include sessions with a nurse practitioner or psychological assessments not covered by provincial health plans or insurance. We will clearly inform you of any fees prior to providing services. Payment processing details and any direct billing options will be communicated in advance, and all payments are subject to our Privacy Policy.
Entire Agreement:
These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any other documents incorporated by reference, constitute the entire agreement between you and STG Health regarding the Platform and supersede any prior agreements related to the same subject matter.
Governing Law:
Except where prohibited by law, you agree that any disputes or legal matters arising from these Terms will be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Province of Saskatchewan and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein.
