NIHB-Covered OCD Therapy

NIHB ACCESS

Eligible First Nations and Inuit clients may be able to access specialized OCD psychotherapy through the Non-Insured Health Benefits program after required approval.

Important

Coverage is not automatic simply because a service appears on this website. Eligibility, provider status and prior authorization should be confirmed before treatment begins.

NON-INSURED HEALTH BENEFITS

NIHB may cover eligible psychotherapy for First Nations and Inuit clients.

SaskOCD is a specialized service of STG Health Services Inc. The clinic identifies Chris de Feijter as an approved NIHB Mental Health Provider. Eligibility and authorization still need to be confirmed for each client and service.

1. Start intake

Tell SaskOCD that you are seeking NIHB-funded OCD treatment and provide the information required to verify eligibility.

2. Approval

STG Health can assist with the prior-approval process when the requested service is eligible. Do not assume coverage until authorization is confirmed.

3. Begin treatment

Once approved and scheduled, eligible psychotherapy can be billed through the approved NIHB pathway rather than charged directly to the client.

WHAT NIHB-FUNDED OCD CARE CAN INCLUDE

Funding does not change the clinical treatment model.

When approved, SaskOCD psychotherapy can include OCD assessment/formulation, ERP, treatment of mental compulsions and rumination, ACT-informed ERP components, family education when appropriate, and progress review within the authorized service.

Bring what you have

If you already have a diagnosis, referral, medication list, previous report or prior ERP history, it can help. A complete file is not required simply to ask about access.

START NIHB ACCESS

Ask about NIHB-funded OCD treatment.

Start intake and identify NIHB as your intended funding route. The clinic can explain what information and approval are currently required.
